Projects and organizations we worked with included: Alpha Project, Catholic Charities, e3 Civic High School, Island Village Apartments, Birthline, and Slavic Refugee & Immigrant Services www.Slavics.org (sponsored by OneOC TIN 95-2021700).Needs of students families are identified in ongoing coordination with administration, and staff tasked with assisting in identifying and meeting these objectives. In 2023, FFCOF continued supporting e3 Civic High families (San Diego School District). FFCOF volunteers solicit and shop for household and school necessities and items are delivered or clients pick up the items at the school. These families can remain FFCOF clients as long as they are in need. The families are also phoned or emailed to invite them to pick up food and sometimes personal care items each month by appoin 17655 Essentials4Homeless/ShelteredDuring 2023 FFCOF assisted the homeless in San Diego County by providing essentials for those in shelters. The Foundation engaged community volunteers to purchase, solicit, and prepare the donations and deliver them to Alpha Project and Catholic CharitiesApril Project: Backpacks with Clothing and Personal Items for Mens shelters: FFCOF Volunteers engaged the community to prepare and organize beforehand, as well as attend the workshop to assemble the kits. Refreshments are served and fellowship is encouraged. Workshops engage 10-35 volunteers.FFCOF purchased and volunteers prepared and personalized 250 backpacks color coded and labeled by size, with a new towel, washcloth, sweatshirt, polo shirt, T-shirt, underwear, and full sizes of toiletries. The men are always very grateful, especially for our letters of hope. We believe the letters of hope the community wrote helps the men know we are praying for them and wish them success in reestablishing their life a 21113 Multiple ProjectsSupplies and services used in direct support of the other programs.2023 Holiday Outreach ProjectApproximately 75 volunteers participated in a day-long workshop to assemble and gift wrap holiday gifts purchased by FFCOF and through in-kind donation of clothing items. Completed Gift bags were donated to Leahs Residence Adopted Families, Leahs Residence, Rachels Day Center Boutique, Rachels Day Center, Rachels Night Shelter and Rachels Promise, Casa Maria/House of Rachel, Sober Living, La Posada. All individuals received Personal Care kits according to their living situation. Shelters also received a 3-piece bath towel set. Homes/Apartments. also received Bathroom, Laundry, and Kitchen household replenishment items.In addition, Christmas gifts were purchased by FFCOF and collected as in-kind donations, gift wrapped at the workshop, and delivered to low-income adopted families as identified by social support staff at Los Penasquitos Elementary School, Leahs Residence, and 1654 Community/EngageFood & Pantry DistributionIn 2023, FFCOF continued our food pantry, initiated in September, 2019. FFCOF volunteers handed out food monthly to indigent students families at e3 Civic High School and Island Village, a low-income apartment complex, both in downtown San Diego. This need is identified in ongoing coordination with administration. In 2019, FFCOF was accepted as a Jacobs & Cushman Food Bank (San Diego) Non-Profit Partner, where FFCOF purchases most of the food. The Foundation serves approximately 35 e3 High School families and 60 Island Village individuals monthly, by appointment, with monthly portions of food, according to family size, and occasionally non-food household expendables. e3 Civic High families are typically 4-7 people. Each pantry engages 4-8 volunteers.Monthly Dinners at Mens ShelterFFCOF continues to participate in purchasing, cooking and delivering monthly dinners for approximately 80 men at La Posada mens shelter.
