The Visiting Board was organized to preserve and enhance the ability of MaineHealth to provide for children and adolescents, to provide equipment for patients, to provide services and comfort for patients, to support the advancement of knowledge and practice of education and research in the care and treatment of patients and to sponsor, develop and promote services and programs which benefit or assist in the care of patients. Board members are chosen based on their interest in, and ability to contribute to, volunteer work for the benefit of MaineHealth. There has been a historical relationship in supporting the needs of MaineHealth. All operational functions of the Organization are performed on a contracted basis by MaineHealth (EIN # 01-0238552), a wholly owned subsidiary of MaineHealth Services (EIN # 01-0431680). Visiting Board staff are contracted from MaineHealth. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 6 The membership of the Visiting Board consists of no more than fifty Active Members and an unlimited number of Associate Members. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7a The officers shall be elected for a term of two years by the Active Members of the Visiting Board, from a slate submitted by the Nominating Committee at the annual meeting of the Visiting Board.
