Ferry Beach welcomes all people. For 11 weeks each summer, Ferry Beach hosts nearly 30 camps and conferences with a wide range of programs. Our programs fall into four general categories: adult conferences, family conferences, professional/church development, and youth camps. Summer conferences at Ferry Beach feature special programming for both adults and children. Each morning, adults attend a variety of exciting workshops while children engage in the fun, creative, supervised activities of the Ferry Beach Children's Program. Afternoons are open for family time, the beach, exploring Maine's coast, or curling up with a good book. Evenings are filled with music, dancing, games, and conversations in front of a fire. The purpose of the fund is to provide an income stream to support the operations of the Association. The principal of the fund may not be spent without authorization by three-quarters majority of attending memberships of meeting. Part X, Line 2: The Association qualifies as an organization exempt from federal income taxes under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) and files a Form 990 tax return. With few exceptions, the Association is no longer subject to U.S. federal income tax examinations by tax authorities for years before 2020 due to statute of limitations. Management of the Association believes it has no material uncertain tax provisions and, accordingly, it will not recognize any liability for unrecognized tax benefits. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 6 The Organization has members who may elect members of the Board of Directors Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7a The members of the Association vote to elect members of the Board of Directors at annual meetings. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7b Amendments to the bylaws require approval at any annual meeting by a two-third majority vote of the members present. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 8b No committees with authority to act on behalf of the governing body have been established. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11b The form 990 is prepared by the Organization's independent accountants. Prior to filing, the Organization's Finance Committee reviews and recommends acceptance to the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee then reviews and votes to accept and sends out to the entire governing body. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 15a The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors meets annually between December and January to evaluate the performance of the Executive Director and to decide upon future compensation to be provided for this position. A report is then completed and submitted for acceptance to the Board of Directors. Compensation is determined in this position by making comparison of responsibilities and compensation model presented to us by the Unitarian Universalist Association. No other officers are compensated.
