Housed on the original Grays Harbor Coast Guard Station the museum along with its Coast guard heritage remains the heart of Westport. In its ongoing mission the society is a key element in local tourism and education and in continuing its outreach in 2023 hosted 9,524 visitors from 48 states and 15 countries. While based in a small economically depressed community the society has 110 supporting members who along with friends of the society donated over 4,954 volunteer hours operating the Westport Maritime Museum Destruction Island Lens hall and Grays Harbor Lighthouse along with providing education and service events. Part VI, Line 11b The 990 is reviewed by the Treasurer prior to filing and each Board Trustee receives a copy prior to the filing at a Board of Trustees meeting.
