Periodically we ask for updated grant information to show how the funds are used and what new needs have arisen. Members have visited the sites in person t see how the organizations are run. Items consist of clothing books small household appliances crafts puzzles children's items etc. All items sold are donated. No purchased items are sold in the thrift store. Total sales during the year was $361,798 which is the FMV of the items donated. FormAndLineReferenceDesc: Part I Line Line4 All books are donated and if acceptable are sold in the thrift store. There value is the amount for which they sell. No book are purchased for sale. All goods in the thrift store come from donations from the community. Total sales were $362,798 for all goods sold. FMV is the amount that they sell for. Value is reflected in the sales figure reported. Part VI, Line 6 There are 95 members of the organization with equal voting rights. There are no stock holders. Part VI, Line 7a Only members are allowed to elect or appoint officers or directors. Each member has an equal vote. Part VI, Line 11b The form 990 is completed by the Finance Committee chair. It is shared with the Board president who then shares it with the Board. The 990 is presented and discussed at the next business meeting with the membership. The president signs the 990 and then it is filed. Part VI, Line 19 The governing documents financial statements and Form 990 are stored in the office that is located at the Thrift Shop. Viewing is available during the times that the thrift store is open and staffed. Either a board member of the treasurer will make documents available to anyone who requests. There were no requests for the year. Please do not apply any non-filing penalties. This is our initial return and was originally set up for e-filing with Express Tax990. The return was rejected stating that the exempt organization could not be found. The return was manually filed on on November 11 2023 with a letter of explanation stating the reason for the manual filing. We included our exemption letter that was received from the IRS. On April 29,2024 we received a letter LTR264C dated April 18 2024 from the IRS telling us to refile the return electronically. Reference is 0422696556. We are now refiling electronically with the same service and believe that we should not be fined any penalties. We have tried to comply with filing this return since last November. We tried to file electronically initially. We plan to file electronically in the future.
