Our members are our shareholders. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7a The board of directors is elected by the membership of the credit union. An election is done annually by mail ballots for board members whose term has expired or to replace anyone who has left the board for any reason during the year. Nominations for candidates can be made from any member, and each candidate must be a member of the credit union in good standing who can meet the requirements of the position. At least two members of the board must be present to count the ballots. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7b In the case of a voluntary merger with another financial institution, the board of directors must hold a meeting with the membership of the credit union to call for a vote concerning the merger. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b The board of directors is given a copy of the completed Form 990 along with all of the attached schedules to review and approve prior to submitting the form to the IRS. The manager of the credit union does not sign the documents until a majority of the board has approved the information. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 Financial statements are submitted quarterly to the NCUA and are published on the NCUA's website for all credit unions. All governing documents and policies of the credit union are kept at the credit union and are available to view upon request.
