They will guide students to utilize a diverse array of research skills that can be used to study almost any topic imaginable. We provided an inquiry-based approach to science learning and the scientific method. We focus on Student-Driven Research, where students design and implement their own independent research projects. Within this framework, we can teach a variety of subjects. The powerful experience of asking and answering their own questions gives students an unforgettable connection to science and the natural environment. These programs are certified accomplished by STEMworks at WestEd, among the top in the nation's STEM programs. We provided an inquiry-based approach to exploring the outdoors. Each week has a theme such as plants, insects, or water. We use scientists to help them begin to understand the scientific method. We give kids an unforgettable connection to science and the natural environment. These programs also serve as a good source of income to help us pay staff to develop new program materials. 99650 280 We have outreach and free online programs such as, Lunch with a Scientist. Lunch with a Scientist is the biggest of these programs. It is an online library of talks with companion investigations for the teachers to use with their students. This program is completely free for any teacher and student. Twice a month we record a new talk. When I filled out the form, I thought I had checked that our accounting method is a cash basis Form 990, Header, Line B and I checked accrual basis and didn't realize. No one noticed until a new board member was going through our old 990s Form 990, Header, Line C and asked why we changed accounting methods. Our accounting has always been on a cash basis and we never changed accounting methods. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b The 990 first goes to the Treasurer. They check it over. Then the board receives the 990, reviews the 990 and then votes to accept the 990 before it is submitted. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 Our employees all make less than comparable jobs for similar organizations. The board looks at all salaries and votes to approve them before the start of the next fiscal year. They have to approve any raises that may happen during the year as well. The treasurer and the ED work on a budget together.
