PHA employs its vast convening power, diverse network, and thought leadership to develop and spotlight the top programs and practices with the greatest potential to create positive change in the U.S. food landscape. PHA works with organizations across the supply chain food producers, manufacturers, distributors and retailers to improve the nutritional profile of foods and beverages wherever consumers are resulting in a greater volume of healthier options for all. We also collaborate with other non-profit organizations, including food banks, who understand the importance of, not just providing any food to communities in need, but providing the right food to children and families who suffer the most from health disparities caused by lack of access to healthier food options. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11b After the audited financial statements are approved by the Finance and Audit Committee of the PHA Board of Directors, the Form 990 is first prepared and reviewed by external accountants, then reviewed internally by PHA staff, then by the Finance and Audit Committee of the Board and finally is shared with the full Board of Directors prior to filing with the IRS. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12c PHA requires all directors, officers, members of the Board of Directors and key employees to sign a statement annually, which indicates their understanding and acceptance of the Conflict-of-Interest Policy. PHA enforces compliance on a situational basis. It does not include individuals with potential conflicts in certain conversations or meetings where a conflict may exist. Periodic reviews are conducted to ensure PHA does not engage in activities that may jeopardize its tax-exempt status. If there is cause to believe that an individual has acted in violation of the Conflict-of-Interest Policy, the Board or Committee shall inform the individual and offer the opportunity to explain the violation. If the individual fails to explain the conflict-of-interest violation adequately, proper disciplinary action is taken.
