Form 990, Part III, Line 3 In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization had been holding most of its programs online. As the pandemic waned, programming returned to taking place in person. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 6 The organization has a "overning body or executive board of 15 members, and the remaining membership is approximately 250 student volunteers who receive no financial compensation or benefit from the organization. Student volunteers are involved with activities such as staffing conferences, teaching, debating, and attending speaker events. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7a 5 members of the executive board (President, Vice President, Treasurer, Executive Director, and Secretary) are elected by vote of the general membership in April of each year. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b Completing and filing the Form 990 is, as per the organization's bylaws and constitution, the responsibility of the Treasurer, who is also responsible for the organization's budgeting and accounting. The Treasurer then provides copies of the Form 990 to the other members of the executive board prior to filing. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c At any meeting of the executive board, before discussing the appointment of organization members or any other executive decisions, it is clearly stated that those board members with conflicts of interest should voluntarily withdraw themselves from a vote or from any discussion about candidates for positions or new bylaws. If board members believed that another board member failed to disclose a conflict of interest, they were allowed to appeal to the President of the board, who made the final determination on how to proceed. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 No members of the organization, including the executive board, receive financial compensation or benefits fro their services. All members of the organization serve in a volunteer capacity. Financial records to the organization are available upon request. Form 990, Part IX, Line 24e Other expenses are itemized as follows: Yale Model United Nations Taiwan incurred costs of $47291; Yale Model African Union incurred costs of $43961; general program services expenses including technology subscriptions, events for membership, and fees for various services totaled $39878; the Model United Nations Team at Yale incurred costs of $35624; Hemispheres incurred costs of $29257; and the Yale Review of International Studies incurred costs of $7764.
