On Feb 27, 2024, we held our 45th Annual "Supplier Night Expo" focusing on Washington food suppliers/manufacturers. The event attracted over 180 attendees representing 60 food manufacturers with 140 booths. 1457 50000 1410 Scholarship Night and Dinner is held every Spring. This year the event was held on Feb 22, 2024 and included an educational discussion to our members and guests. 10 Scholarship recipients were awarded their checks and iPads during the meeting. The scholarship committee, comprising of 5 members and a few additional volunteers helped with this event. 16660 0 29145 Golf Outing happened every June, about 15 volunteers help plan and execute this event. The scholarship committee, comprising of 5 members debated and then selected the recipients based on established criteria. 10 5000 Schedule I, Part I, Line 2 We gave assistance to known organizations that were well established and had a long history in our community. Each applicant had to provide their school transcripts, fill out an application and had a signed letter of recommendation from an advisor at the school they were currently enrolled in. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 6 We have different levels of membership, namely, premier, premier early carrier, networking and engagement, international joint, emeritus and student. These different levels of membership carried different levels of benefits, discounts of IFT resources. None of them carried any voting rights Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b The Form 990 was distributed to the various officers and a meeting was conducted to discuss issues that arose and a motion to approve the Form 990 was made. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c All the Board members shall verbally acknowledge their reading and understanding the conflict of interest policy in one of the beginning year meetings. The Board members all agreed that in order to maintain its federal tax exemption it must engage primarily in activities which accomplish one or more of its tax-exempt purposes. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 The conflict of interest policy is reviewed and discussed periodically. Any member with potential engagement, conflict of interest must inform the Board of that potential conflict and will be excused from any discussion or vote on the related issue. The President is expected to make inquiries if a conflict appears to exist while the board member concerned has not made it known.
