In 2023, aid was provided to Rohingya refugees in the UN Refugee Camp in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. Fund The UN's partner charity was Global One. Global One maintained a health post. We also provided aid to school children in St. Lucia. Our Partner was the Caribbean American Heritage Foundation. Our Board Members also visited the project sites. Fund The UN had signed Memorandums of Understanding and Scopes of Work with both charities. Each month, Global One and CAFT provided progress reports, financial reports, and receipts for all expenses. Each organization was audited by an auditor. All monthly reports and receipts are kept on a share drive (DropBox folders). Every transaction (whether expense or donation) has an ID number, and records to document it. At the end of the fiscal year, all records and bank statements are reviewed by the Finance committee. All transactions appear on our checking account. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b Fund The UN has a process for preparation and review of the Form 990 and its distribution to all board members prior to filing with the Internal Revenue Service. This process will provide board members the opportunity to review the Form 990 while also ensuring that annual filing deadlines may be met. The Organization's Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer are responsible for the timely preparation of the Form 990. The Organization may confer with accountants and legal counsel of the Organization with respect to drafts of the Form 990. Copies of the completed draft Form 990 (including required schedules) will be distributed to the Audit Committee in either electronic or paper form for review and approval. Any questions or concerns will be noted and addressed, and management staff will ensure that changes are incorporated into the Form 990 as appropriate. The Committee reviews each transaction to come before the Board for potential or actual conflicts of interest. If potential or actual conflicts (past, present or future) are identified, the person determined to have a conflict is recused from deliberations and voting. The identified conflicts of interest and appropriate recusals are documented in the minutes of each Board or Committee meeting.
