GYC launches and hauls our own members and club owned boats, as well as the boat of the local Sea Scouts. Launch was held in early spring and haul was held in mid fall. GYC also provides dockage for 47 members boats and winter storage for approx. 60 boats.GYC held its regular weekly race schedule. Additionally, GYC hosted a regatta for women skippers, a benefit Hospice Regatta (in association with the national Hospice Regatta organization) for Sunset House and other special races.(Continued on Schedule O)GYC also runs GYC Community Sailing (GYC-CS), a program that includes a free program that introduces non, or beginning, sailors to the sport of sailing, as well as a program in conjunction with Big Brothers Big Sisters that welcomes kids who might not otherwise have the opportunity, to sail on members boats. GYC also has club boats that can be used at no additional cost to GYC-CS members.GYC also holds a number of social events throughout the calendar year. The full membership meets monthly, except in July. The Executive Board meets every month. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7b ARTICLE IX - ACTIONS REQUIRING MEMBERSHIP APPROVAL A. The following actions shall require two-thirds (2/3) approval of the total membership of the Club: 1. Purchase, sales, leasing, or mortgaging of any real property; 2. Amendment of this constitution; 3. Levying of assessments against the membership; 4. Capital improvements exceeding 50 percent of the current annual budget; 5. Merger, consolidation, or dissolution of the Club. B. Any action requiring two-thirds (2/3) approval shall be submitted to the membership for voting by written ballot for return by a specified date no less than 15 days and no more than 60 days thereafter. Any ballot not so returned may be voted by the executive board acting as a board if such ballot so states on its face. 7 C. All other actions requiring membership approval may be authorized without prior notice except action under Article X by simple majority of the members present at the meeting. D. Proxy voting shall not be permitted except as provided in Paragraph B of this Article. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12c GYC provides each officer and director with the conflict of interest policy when they are elected or appointed. The policy is also reviewed annually. If a potential conflict with any officer or director arises, the organization follows the conflict of interest policy and documents that in meeting minutes.
