In 2024, 100% of participants identified as economically/environmentally disadvantaged, with 85% stating the program increased their interest in serving medically underserved areas. MiMentor partnered with KP THRIVE Academy at the STEM Hollywood Academy and Harbor-UCLA Summer Urban Health Fellowship (SUHF) to host these internships, providing experiences for students in community health settings and opportunities to learn about health care disparities and issues facing our underresourced and historically minoritized communities. MSR provides 13 or more workshops led by renowned physicians and admissions deans, 3 or more writing workshops, individualized 1:1 longitudinal mentorship, small group mentoring, and more, all targeted to help increase MCAT scores, create a compelling personal statement, offer guidance on how to address potential gaps in student application, help navigate osteopathic and allopathic medical school applications, secure strong letters of recommendation, assist in curating a medical school list, promote self-advocacy, identify and address imposter syndrome, and more. Since 2016, MSR has demystified every aspect of applying to medical school.
