So, we are experimenting with ways to layer them and/or add new ones. In addition to teaching teens crucial skills they missed growing up, workshops are the primary way these young ones meet and connect with our adult, Jesus-following, trauma informed coaches who can mentor them. 30985 25 Personal Mentoring is the heart of what we do. Our trained coaches discover who each teen is and wants to be and help them develop a roadmap to get there. It is our honor and joy to pour into the lives of these young people and watch them begin to thrive as they experience unconditional, trust-filled relationships with adults who care deeply for them and desire only their best. One boy now refers to his coaches a husband and wife as his mom and dad. All those being mentored gush with praise for their coaches who love them and pour hope into their lives. It has been a joy to watch several young people begin to explore who Jesus is, and/ or express their trust in Him. 30286 Vocational Training that equips young people with the character, confidence, and skills they need to care for themselves and provide for others. The first step is to teach teens what it means to work. So, we partner with businesses and individuals who give them one-off jobs that require them to work hard and complete the job to get paid. This is proving to be a fundamental building block in our vocational training process.
