Line 28) Lafayette County Farm Bureau hosted an essay and speech contest. Students were asked to research an agriculture related topic and give give their speech to community leaders. This program brings awareness to students on the current issues impacting agriculture while learning public speaking and research skills. Line 29) During our annual Ag Venture Day students are educated about the importance of agriculture in our community. Students learn about dairy, poultry, peanuts, corn and forestry. These are some of the main commodities in our area. Line 30) Food Check Out Day commemorates the calendar day the average american family earns enough income to pay for an entire year's food. It is a time to connect consumers to local farmers and spotlight farmers importance.
