Organizations can become providers of our parenting education course by purchasing a license. There are currently 12 licensed providers. The agency website offers the class on the internet for parents needing to complete the class and not attending class in the classroom. An internet class and site were created for College of Lake County (one of our licensees). Both programs ensure no contact occurs between parents during the exchange. Overnight parenting is designed to supervise the transfer of children between divorced or separated parents. This program targets high-conflict couples with a history of problems at the time of child transfer. During the Supervised Parenting Time the receiving parent is not allowed to leave the center with the child. The visit takes place on site. All families are court-ordered into these programs. The Family Center in St. Clair County served families with 621 scheduled exchanges and 624 supervised parenting times. The executive committee is responsible for the oversight/review of the organizations internal statements and for the selection of the independent CPA and the work she does. Other The main source of revenue is from two IL counties, the one in which the office is located and an adjoining one. The revenue is relatively consistent with a minimal amount of time involved in applying for and receiving the funds. Consequently, the amount of expense allocated to fundraising is much lower than for most organizations. Other Sch.A, Pt. The mission of Children First continues to expand its outreach through these new treatment programs for children and teens experiencing parenting separation or divorce. They follow the philosophy of the parenting classes taught to parents ordered by the courts, as the manuals were written by Dr. Jeremy Jewell, a faculty member in Psychology at Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville. The facilator manuals were finished and self-published in 2013. In 2014 we contracted with Research Press, located in Champaign, Illinois. A workbook, Teen Survival Guide to Parent Divorce or Separation, is also being published by Research Press. It is intended for teens of parents taking the Parenting education classes who are in 6th - 12th grades. These are still available through the Research Press. In 2023 Children First Foundation began offering Kid First/Teen First. The sessions are free and meet in person weekly to help children with parents divorce or separation using these principles. Sessions include understanding divorce, normalizing change, communicating feelings, gaining social support, and more.
