Even though the ISD is exempt from income taxes, it may still be liable for a tax on any Unrelated Business Income. The ISD had no Unrelated Business Income during the current year and therefore, no provision for federal or state income taxes from Unrelated Business Income has been made on the accompanying financial statements. Purpose of meeting and utilization of funds must be indicated and verified for sponsorship of award to be granted. Meeting sponsor must report back to ISD and provide a Report on how funds were spent for speakers and scholarships and other expenses. Regional Meetings were for grants to support meeting held in various foreign countries in which funds were utilized to pay for travel for speakers to attend meeting in which speaker approval must be by the Regional Committee Meeting Committee. Mentorships - were funds awarded for young dermatologists 35 years old and below. These young Dermatologists/Residents will receive US $1000 per month from the ISD up to US $3000 for 3 full months with all coming from developing regions. The ISD Executive will approve their nominations after the endorsement of the Committee. Duran, MD, former Secretary-General and Executive Vice-President of the International Society of Dermatology, the Maria M. Duran Committee recognizes potential future female leaders in international dermatology by awarding the Maria Duran Fellowship. One to two fellowships of up to US $1,000 each year to attend an ISD meeting where she will present a poster or oral presentation and registration fees to that meeting will be paid.Global Education Awards - ISD Global Education Awards and Travel Scholarships - The ISD provides Global Education Awards for ISD sponsored meetings including the International Congresses of Dermatology and the Continental Congresses. Candidates for the award should be at the equivalent level of U.S. residents, fellows, or post-doctoral instructors to be considered for this award and 35 years old or younger. Scholarships are available for young dermatologists, under 35 years old to attend ISD sponsored regional meetings. UPON ACCEPTANCE THE RETURN IS THEN SIGNED BY OFFICER AND the RETURN IS SUBMITTED for filing. A PDF VERSION OF THE FINAL RETURN is AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST TO THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE FOR REVIEW AND ANY COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS.
