      <PrimaryExemptPurposeTxt>SCGI is dedicated to informing the public and policymakers about technologies and strategies that can lead to an energy-rich world. SCGI provides a forum for many of the world's prominent scientists, authors, and activists to collaborate and share their knowledge regarding solutions to the world's energy, resource, and environmental problems. That input is used to facilitate information sharing between nations and to encourage cooperation that can lead to accelerated deployment of advanced technologies to markedly improve the condition of both human societies and the environment.</PrimaryExemptPurposeTxt>
      <ProgramSrvcAccomplishmentGrp>
        <DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>Educate public/policy makers - SCGI's president, Tom Blees, spent several months working on a western states water development project with water and fisheries experts from California. At their request, he expanded and updated a paper hed written for Congressman Garamendi (D-CA) back in 2016 that proposed a solution to the water challenges in the western states. He discussed it again with Congressman Garamendi in July of 2023 on a visit to Washington and sent the new version on the SCGI website at the end of the year. In January of 2023, Tom gave a presentation to the public on nuclear power issues and developments in Viera, FL. He also agreed to join the board of advisors of author Robert Zubrins Mars Technology Institute, to offer advice on nuclear power systems that could be used in human settlements on the red planet. Hes also advising an author whos writing a book about the emergence of the pro-nuclear movement. Toms writing and activism played a seminal role.In 2023, Blees became more involved in developing solutions to the nuclear fuel shortage problem. The shortage threatens to delay the deployment of several advanced reactors including Terrapowers Natrium and X-Energys XE-100. Both have been backed by the U.S. Dept. of Energy (DOE). Tom was invited by the top nuclear assistant secretary at DOE to come to Washington in July to discuss his proposals. At that briefing, he shared his insights into laser isotope separation to enrich nuclear fuel. That led to a continuing dialogue with DOE that will likely culminate in close cooperation with Oak Ridge National Laboratory.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>

      <ProgramSrvcAccomplishmentGrp>
        <DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>International collaboration - SCGI continued consultations with nuclear advocacy organizations and individuals around the globe. Despite the reduction in communication with Russian energy scientists due to the Ukraine invasion, Blees maintained contact with friends and colleagues in Russia in hopes that stable relations would resume.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>

        <DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>Other Technologies and Projects - Blees continued research for his new book, Threshold, about the need for global energy abundance. The laser enrichment project required much attention once it elicited such enthusiasm from the Department of Energy. He also continues to be involved with the Thorcon advanced reactor project, which will likely begin constructing its first floating reactor system in 2025.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>
