      <PrimaryExemptPurposeTxt>Co-partners works with organizations of rural women in El Salvador and Guatemala to help them make better lives for themselves and their families guided by our motto to "Learn, Earn and Lead". Co-partners provides resources for skills training, equipment for training and production, educational scholarships, infrastructure and organizational strengthening. The local partner organizations manage small grants provided by Co-partners, plus resources that they generate from training classes and production activities. They maintain organizational records and coordinate with other organizations and local government and represent the needs of lower income and rural families in the broader community. Co-partners also provides annual volunteer training teams to work with organizational leaders, youth and children.</PrimaryExemptPurposeTxt>
      <ProgramSrvcAccomplishmentGrp>
        <DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>LEARN: In a typical year Co-partners supports vocational training in two centers in El Salvador and underwrites scholarships in Guatemala. Vocational classes in centers located in Ilobasco and Apastepueque, El Salvador, provide classes in dressmaking, tailoring, cosmetology, basic computer skills, electrical wiring, cooking, baking and English. In Guatemala, we provide $2,000 for scholarships of school supplies for 150 to 200 elementary school children each year. In Guatemala participants in a chicken project participated in training arranged with the Ministry of Agriculture for raising chickens and management of the flock. Minimal grant funds continue to be provided to cover utility, internet, security and similar costs of the training centers</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>

        <DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>EARN: The two vocational training centers in El Salvador offer classes to enable participants to earn a living wage in the country of their birth rather than feeling the pull of immigration. During 2023, 170 women and youth completed a semester of training in one of ten offerings having income earning potential. A survey conducted shortly before the pandemic indicated that fifty percent of training center class participants reported increased earnings from the training they received. Anecdotal feedback indicates that the performance during 2023 is similar. An updated survey will be repeated during 2024. Members of the Ilobasco program completed a school uniform contract. The training centers cover nearly all of their costs from the provision of training and production contracts for school uniforms. In Guatemala, agricultural projects are emphasized. In 2023, the NOVA Catholic Community provided a grant of $3,300 that funded a turkey project as a source of income for members of our Guatemala partner organization. Three members in each of eight communities participated receiving five turkey chicks each. It is customary in Guatemala to serve turkey during the Christmas season and restaurants also serve a special dish called "pan con pavo". In 2023, we provided a special grant of $9,000 to our Apastepueque partner for the expansion of their training center.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>

        <DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>LEAD: In line with Copartners focus on women's empowerment, we provide material support for women's organizations. Once a woman has completed her education and learned a skill that enables her to contribute to the economic support of the family, we encourage her to step up to leadership in her organization and in her community. Leadership of partner organizations also requires skills as representatives of their organization with local government officials, funding organizations, banks and others. In support of this goal, Copartners offers leadership workshops for both women and youth as a focus of its annual visits. Field trips to organizations having similar activities are carried out with the local boards of directors to network with other organizations and learn from their experiences.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>
