Housing services include direct outreach and engagement, rental/mortgage/utility assistance, short-term housing supports, housing navigation/placemement, and landlord recruitment. BMHO offers supportive housing stabilization services and connects clients to stable housing. BMHO uses a peer support approach to build rapport with clients, develop relationships, and create trust. This approach creates a supportive space for clients to feel safe and representedwhen connecting to additional needed services offered by other CBOs and service providers. BMHO supports individuals and/or families by focusing on their personal stories and history working to understand the courses that led to their current situations. Peer Support Specialists (PPS)place and support individuals in short-term emergency shelters, advocate for permanent housing, build relationship and provide regular check-ins and basic need support. The percentage of the populations served by BMHO representative of marginalized communities is roughly 95%. In Washington County this metric is 50%. In Multnomah County this metric is 98%.BMHO employed a village (community) values methodology interviewing primarily Persons of Color with live experience in the community and approaching each participant and family as a part of our own.
