Partially funded by a grant from the National Writing Project, the Many Musics of America Project is anchored and co-organized by volunteers from the American Musicological Societys network of fifteen regional chapters. The series includes a mix of online and in-person events organized by music studies experts for music enthusiasts and a wider public interested in the history, richness and diversity of Americas musical traditions. All events are free or low-cost and will be accompanied by articles illuminating the development and unique features of the music explored. Most events will be recorded and made available for later viewing online.b.Music Means (publication): Music Means explores the complex artistic, social, commercial, political, and material histories of American music. Launched as part of the Many Musics of America project, a special event series organized by the American Musicological Society, Music Means publishes original narrative and commentary, alongside multimedia features, educational resources, and more. It provides a wealth of information to help users understand how different forms of music simple and multi-layered, harmonious and dissonant, traditional and innovative are woven into the story of America and its peoples.c.Meeting & Events Bulletin (publication): The AMS publishes Meeting & Events Bulletin, evolved from the Annual Meeting Bulletin, provide regular updates on AMS meetings and event in the form of a regular e-newsletter.
