The committee utilizes a dynamic and responsive grantmaking process and applications are reviewed on a quarterly or as-needed basis. This approach allows greater flexibility and agility in addressing the ever-changing needs of the community. The Investment Committee is composed of sector teams, each led by experts in their respective fields. The Committe believes in a hands-on approach with its volunteer committee members, and encourages them to be fully engaged on the sector level to truly understand the issues and challenges at play in the community. In addition to funding nonprofit organizations, the Committe also prioritizes community initiatives and partnerships that drive systemic change of inequitable systems that prevent economic and social mobility for Black, Brown, and marginalized populations in Connecticut. The members of the Investment Committee are responsible for portfolio oversight through a mutual review and assessment process conducted annually that includes a review of the grantee's budget and financial statements, and the grantee and SVP volunteer parnters team's progress against a workplan mutually agreed upon by SVP and the grantee's leadership at the commencement of the grant year. The Investment Committee relies on the expertise of the sector teams to guide their decision-making.
