Volunteers are assisted in their review in some remote areas by drone. Schedule D, Part II, Line 9 Quarterly balance sheets with all management, acquisition , and maintenance expenses plus Stewardship Funds status are provided to the Board. The GLT does not receive any revenue from easements. Expenses for easement purchases, organizational requirements (legal, mailings, insurance), and improvements made for public access are reported in the budget and balance sheet as separate line items, All information is available to the public on request and a year end summary is provided on the website, Schedule D, Part IV, Line 2b Escrow is $6000 for each easement to cover unexpected and/or unanticipated costs associated with legal or other actions not covered by insurance. The escrow on a portion of the stewardship fund is a Board Restriction segregating funds in the event of legal defense requirements should easement restriction issues arise Schedule D, Part V, Line 4 The Greensboro Land Trust maintains a stewardship endowment that is available for legal defense of our conservation easements in the event of violation of restrictions in the easement agreements. The endowment is also available in the event our easement portfolio expands beyond the level where annual monitoring can be conducted by volunteers. Finally, the endowment is also available to contribute to the purchase of conservation easements from landowners by GLT, the Vermont Land Trust , and/or the VT Housing and Conservation Board Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 2 Trustee Kyle Gray, nephew to Clive Gray, Vice Chair.
