The Lukome Center, a non-traditional vocational institute that we established in northern Uganda in 2006, is home to our flagship center-based program. The center offers highly traumatized adolescent girls a suite of comprehensive services, including psychosocial counseling, group support, life skills training, parenting coaching, sexual health education, menstrual hygiene and sanitation training, vocational training, and more in a secure and nurturing environment. Meanwhile, our community-based programs in Uganda and Nigeria, implemented in safe spaces called Girl Empowerment Centers and Youth Empowerment Centers, allow us to respond to the evolving needs of displaced groups much more rapidly and at greater scale. 0 0 614213 0 Center-based Programs. Both are Officers. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b Form 990 is prepared by the Director of Finance and Administration and reviewed by the CEO. Board of Directors review the Form 990 via cloud network prior to submission. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c The Board of Directors discusses any conflict issues. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 A subcommittee of the Board of Directors reviews the compensation for all Officers of the Organization and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors votes on changes to Officers' compensation. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 ChildVoice Governing Policies are made available upon request. For the FY22 filing (July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022) the Director of Operations (who completed the Form 990 for the past 8 years, passed away in August 2022. He did not have a chance to train the current Director of Finance and Administration on the process to complete the Form 990. Because there was much confusion in submitting the records needed for the FY22 Audit, this Audit did not complete until December 2022, after the deadline for filing the Form 990. An extension for filing was submitted and accepted. However, because the current Director of Finance and Administration was new to the job, he was not prepared to file the Form 990. The Accountant was hired to complete the Form 990. This was submitted in April 2023. For the FY23 (July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023), the Audit process was much improved, but the Audit was not completed until October 18, 2023. The Director of Finance and Administration realized that 3 weeks would be insufficient to study, understand and complete a first Form 990. Therefore, and extension was requested and accepted. The main reason for this return being late is due to the fact that this was the first time the Director of Finance and Administration completed this Form and it took longer, this time, within the allotted time (November 15, 2023). An extension was filed to provide the necessary time to study, learn and complete this Form 990 and the necessary Schedules.
