Many youth bring in peer collaborators for their sessions. The small group structure allows for close mentorship opportunities for youth from teaching artists and full access to audio engineering equipment. Youth sign up for studio times on their own to encourage independent planning and organization. Studio sessions are quickly filled each week, demonstrating our youth's ongoing interest and dedication to their creative work. 13739 0 0 Partnerships - Totem Star engaged in numerous partnerships in 2023, including live performances by our artists with the Gates Foundation, Columbia City Beatwalk, THING Festival, WNDR Museum, and Friends of Waterfront Seattle. We also partnered with Middle College High School to offer guest artist performances and panels for their leadership students. Our artists were also able to license their music to Seattle Public Schools and TeenTix for use in staff meetings and podcasts. 11106 0 12956 *UPDATE* Artist Booking - Our youth are always paid for live performances, and they gain professional experience, both as performers and as independent contractors. In 2023, we booked xx Totem Star Artists for xx paid gigs at local community events.
