<DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>Our 2023 Women in Industry Career & Education Expo brought together (125) high school aged girls and over (300) total attendees for a day of career exploration and workforce development, for girls. The girls were able to hear from women that are in a wide range of occupations from Skilled Trades to STEM. They were able to visit both career and education exhibitors to help them as they prepare to enter the workforce. We even had hands-on demonstrations such as a welding simulator, a crane simulator and a semi-truck simulator that the girls were able to experience.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>

<DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>In 2023 we held (1) electrical workshop, (2) Little Free Library Build Events and helped take students from (4) high schools to the POWER Women in Industry Conference in Galveston, Tx. Through each of these events we were able to reach almost (150) girls to help them learn about career pathways they don't normally get exposure to. We introduced them to careers in the electrical trade as well as helped them learn to use power tools and paint brushes. We also hosted a group meal the evening before the conference in Galveston that included a team building exercise to help the girls build their communication and leadership skills.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>

<DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>To reach our littlest future Women in Industry, we have started a line of Women in Industry Children's Books. These books shine a light on nontraditional careers and show the very many career pathways available in places girls didn't think of previously, didn't know existed or didn't think were for them. Our first book was Lilly the Lab Technician and our second book is Marcela the Millwright with several other occupations lined up.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>

<DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>Throughout the year we do as much community outreach as we can including local high school career fairs, homeschool conventions, the Texas Conference for Women, SkillsUSA Texas State Convention and even an occasional girl's volleyball tournament. We also find opportunities to go and support girls in competitions such as welding and masonry. It doesn't matter if it's 2 girls or 200, if we can be there to support them, we make every effort to show up and cheer them on.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>
