Line 28) Our county promotes youth programs in both Gilchrist & Dixie County. Students were given scholarships to assist those students who want to have careers in an agricultural related field. Line 29) During the course of the year we participate in various events whose purpose is to educate the general public on the importance of agriculture in our community. We provide activities to enhance the learning experience as we work for the betterment of agriculture. Line 30) We held a speech contest that provides local High School students an opportunity to learn valuable life skills such as research, writing and public speaking. Students research an agriculture related topic and present their speech in front of agriculture professionals.
