Our "Made in Norwalk: Our Industrial Past Reborn" tour on October 15 2023 addressed the architectural principle of adaptive reuse in the city's surviving factory buildings. The impetus for this event was the loss of a beautiful and historic factory the year prior 3 Quincy Street see our web site. Old factory buildings are regularly threatened in Norwalk a former industrial hub and it is an issue in cities and towns across the state of Connecticut. Note that our cash accounting method does not include costs accrued after the end of our fiscal year so the single largest expense the bus and its driver is not reflected here. These programs do not net significant amounts unless there are sponsors. Part IX, Line 24e Expenses for program service events in 2022 and 2023 mainly refreshments and supplies. We have always filed a Form 990-N postcard. Our annual gross revenue since 2004 has never been more than $20,000 99% derived from government grants and public support including program services. In January 2023 we received an unusual grant a bequest of $331,742. Our Treasurer is a volunteer not a professional. We did not have the requisite knowledge to file Form 990 on time. We did not and still do not think we owe any taxes. In 18 years we have never owed any taxes so that is a reasonable assumption. If we thought we owed taxes we would have paid on time to avoid penalties. We have tried our best to correctly fill out this form without spending thousands of dollars on a professional accountant. We hope that our failure to file Form 8868 can be forgiven. We will not repeat this mistake in the future.
