We provide women with resources to create, buy the end product to give them an income and use the revenue to fund women empowerment programs and menstrual hygiene kits to help girls stay in school consistently. In the 2022 fiscal year we worked with different groups in Nairobi, Maasai Mara, Kitui and Narok to provide resources to create such as beads and leather. Provided menstrual hygiene kits including sanitary pads and underwear to the girls in the artisan villages. The team included reproductive health education to teach girls about the changes happening to their bodies and attempt to break the shame and taboo associated with menstruation. Program service expenses includes transportation, gift bags, sanitary pads, underwear, t-shirts, lodging. While our primary objective is to empower women through skills handed down through generations and our secondary objective is to help the girls stay in school by eliminating the hurdle brought on by period poverty, food helps create a rapport. The women in rural areas need the food and appreciate the help. The main objective is to build trust and a relationship by breaking bread and creating an atmosphere for open conversation. It helps our team understand the women and how we can best serve their needs.
