High school counselors report the grades and attendance reports on a quarterly basis. The number of high school counselors reporting grades varies according to the internal policies of each of the high schools. For example, some high schools assign one counselor as the liaison counselor to work with the Diploma Plus Program while most high schools have several counselors working with the Diploma Plus Program based on the students assigned to them. When a student does not make passing grades or the attendance rate is lower than 95%, the student isn't issued a stipend. The student, however, is not dropped from the program, but is encouraged to do better for the next report card period. Only those at-risk high school seniors who are passing their courses and have at least 95% or better attendance qualify for the stipends of $200. The organization maintains the documentation reports on grades and attendance we receive from the counselors. The organization also maintains documentation provided by the students regarding their use of the stipends and how the stipend helped them during the school year. Additionally, the counselors communicate their support for the program and attest to its effectiveness in helping the students in tangible ways and how they have the student improve.
