Should a conflict of interest arise, minutes of the board meetings reflect when a board member discloses that he/she has a conflict of interest and the conflict will be managed. Pt VI, Line 15a Sherry Kunze, Head of the School, receives a limited compensation if there is any money remaining after she meets her 2 top priorities. The priorities being that all her kids have adequate school supplies, learning curriculum and works, snacks and her teachers are paid. Pt VI, Line 2 Steve Kunze and Sherry Kunze are married and both are on the board. Pt VI, Line 15b Scott Knollenberg, an independent Board member, reviews and approves her priorities including her compensation. Scott has not done a review of comparability data for the Head of School's compensation package because Montessori Schools in America serve the wealthy or fully resources while LEMS serves mostly under- resourced kids (never turning a kid away).
