We accept guests via referral from attorneys and or agencies and initially place our guests in host homes until they are permitted to work legally in the United States. Each individual or family is supported by a team of volunteers who help our guests find services such as school transportation English classes and medical care. We also support our teams with professional consulting services. When our guests are able to work and support themselves we provide the initial rent deposits household needs and the like as they begin living independently and await their asylum court date. The final draft of Form 990 is distributed to the Board of Directors for comment and approval via electronic means email. Any concerns and or discrepancies are reconciled before filing the Form 990. Part VI, Line 12c We implemented our conflict of interest policy less than a year ago so we have not yet had our annual review; but our intention is to do so. Effective January 1 2024 we hired one of our board members as a consultant and removed her as a board member at the same time. We keep copies of the policy signed by our board members on file. Part VI, Line 19 We prefer to provide our Form 990 and final year-end financial information to interested parties; but we will provide interim financial information marked "Unaudited" to prospective donors. During 2023 we provided significant information to the State of Colorado and several private donors about our typical costs in order to help them understand our needs for funds. If asked we would provide information about how we govern and manage our organization. We do not disclose information that may impact the privacy of our guests.
