On our racks and docks, ACBA stored over 240 non-motorized watercraft and 30 motorized launches. ACBA held six major regattas at the site, in addition to numerous scrimmages with area teams. Cumulatively, ACBA's organizations introduced rowing and paddling on the Anacostia River to over 850 individuals through camps, "learn to" classes, and one day events. ACBA organizations sponsored and supported inclusivity on the Anacostia River with the following programs: DC Strokes is one of only two LGBTQ plus rowing clubs in the US ; Capital Juniors (serves DC and Area Youth), Capital Adaptive Rowing Program in partnership with Medstar Hospital National Rehabilitation Rowing (adults and youths with physical and intellectual disabilities), We Can Row (cancer Survivors and Patients), GOPink!DC dragon boat team (breast cancer survivors), and Unity Boat Club (UBC Intellectual Impairment (athletes with intellectual or developmental impairment); UBC Veteran Leaders (active duty & veteran military with service connected physical or cognitive disabilities); and UBC Youth (athletes of color)). The Other Income of $65,468 is the insurance payout to cover the loss, which was applied to a replacement roof. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 4 The bylaws were amended on December 6, 2023 for several purposes. First, to clarify the roles and nomination process for Member Organization. Second, to define officers' roles more clearly, with additions to the role of Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Finally, to add a Director of Operations as an Officer and as part of the Executive Committee. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 6 ACBA has 8 member organizations, to include 6 full members from the District of Columbia, and 2 associate members from Virginia. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7a ACBA's Full member organizations nominate directors and appoint delegates who vote for the directors. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 8b The association has no committees with authority to act on behalf of the governing body. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b The draft IRS 990 was sent electronically to each board member, who had 5 days to review and ask questions about the report. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c We are a small organization with a limited number of board members and business dealings. All transactions are made with the understanding of potential conflicts. For decisions with a potential conflict, the board member is excluded from the decision-making process. In 2023, we had no expenditure decisions with a potential conflict of interest. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 The Anacostia Community Boathouse Association (ACBA) is a completely volunteer run organization, and as such, the President, Officers, and Directors receive no compensation, and we have no paid employees at all. Review of this "no compensation" occurs with the presentation and review of the annual budget and periodic financial reports to the board of directors.
