At the present time we have eight young adults employed at Toby's Place. They are learning to take on the responsibility of employment. One is to provide training and employment opportunities for young adults with intellectual and developmental needs. The other is to provide a housing opportunity for people with disabilities to have the experience of living independently, with other peers, in a shared housing environment. On the 2022 Form 990, both of these program functions were combined, as serving the overall mission. We have tracked and listed them separately on the 2024 Form 990 Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 8b Toby's Place has no formal committees, and therefore does not record minutes of committee meetings. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b The organization provides a complete copy of the Form 990 and accompanying schedules, to the Chairperson of the Board of Directors, and to the Executive Director, both of whom review the documents before they are filed. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c Toby's Place is a small organization, and has a small Board, all of whom are local to the community. If a conflict becomes known, the Board member is asked to resign. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 Compensation for the Executive Director of Toby's Place is determined by the Board of Directors. The Board reviews compensation from organizations of similar size and structure to help determine the compensation appropriate for the Exec. Dir. The Board then considers the projected revenue stream of the organization to make a final determination of the compensation for the Exec. Dir. This is done annually. Any board member who has an interest in the Executive Director's Salary is recused from the discussion of and voting on the Executive Director's compensation. There are no other officers or employees for which such a review is undertaken. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 Our governing documents are not posted on any website at this point. To date, we have had no requests for such documents. If a request is received, Toby's Place will make them available to the requesting party. Form 990, Part X, Line 1 The person who completed the Form 990 for 2022 included checking account balances in line 2 as temporary cash investments Form 990, Part X, Line 31 The person who completed Form 990 for 2022 did not understand how to fill out a balance sheet, and either didn't understand the instructions or didn't read them thoroughly. The amounts reported on Lines 31-33 were incorrect, affecting both the beginning of year and end of year totals. The numbers have been adjusted to reconcile Total Assets to Total Liabilities in Column A, and corrections are reflected in Part XI, Line 8. Form 990, Part XI, Line 8 This adjustment reflects corrections for math errors, mistakes made due to not understanding and/or not applying accounting principles, and reporting based on cash basis instead of accrual basis. Form 990, Part XII, Line 1 The person who completed the 2022 Form 990 indicated a cash basis accounting method, and used figures based on a cash basis report, resulting in some incorrect information being reported in Part X, Part XI and Part XII. The organization uses the accrual method of accounting.
