      <ProgramSrvcAccomplishmentGrp>
        <DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>In 2023, the Inland Valley Down Syndrome Association (IVDSA) had a very active and productive year. The interaction with our community and members was at an all time high with many social opportunities and events we offered throughout the year. It was important for us to maintain good communication with our community, offer enriching opportunities for people with Down Syndrome and other special needs, and make sure we continued to fundraise in order to support our current and future goals.In the area of outreach and member services for families with members who have special needs, we updated and maintained our database for better communication. We hosted a holiday party where over 325 members RSVP'd. We had social groups meeting at various times throughout the year. Our Little Steps and Next Steps groups, supporting children 0-6 years old, had several meet-ups in the park. In these locations, crafts and games were available for the children, and families had a chance to get to know each other and find community. Our teen and adult groups went to movies, boat rides, bowling, dinners, and dances. In addition to social groups, IVDSA offered a free education program where parents learned how to help their child with Down Syndrome or other disabilities learn how to read. Guest speakers this year included specialists such as physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists who spoke with families about ways to enrich the lives of their loved ones.Financial, IVDSA continued to fundraise throughout the year to support our mission. We held a very successful Buddy Walk event in a park where over 600 people attended. This was our biggest fundraiser where we brought our families together, raised money, offered resources, camaraderie, and support. Lastly, this year we worked hard to increase our visibility in the community. We updated our website, sent monthly newsletters, and had a presence on social media. Board members attended community events, handed out flyers, and were available to answer questions.IVDSA accomplished many goals in 2023. We were successful in fundraising, reached out to the greater community, and provided support to our families and members with Down Syndrome and other special needs.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>
