Elmbrook operates a residence for eight persons including university students and staff, and it features a Christian living environment, library, and chapel. It also provides instruction and service opportunities to an additional fifty students, both undergraduate and graduate. The central activity is a mentoring program, which the center offers to local students free of charge. In addition, Elmbrook brings students together for evenings of conversation held at the center's facility, and for various seminars and retreats on technical, ethical, and professional topics. In cooperation with the Prelature of Opus Dei, the center offers spiritual resources for students, including the Sacraments of the Catholic Faith, religious instruction, and spiritual direction. We have one resident chaplain who is a priest of Opus Dei. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c Each director, principal officer and member of a committee with governing board delegated powers is required annually to sign a statement that affirms such person: (a) Has received a copy of the conflicts of interest policy; (b) Has read and understands the policy; (c) Has agreed to comply with the policy; and (d) Understands the Corporation is charitable and in order to maintain its federal tax exemption must engage primarily in activities that accomplish one or more of its exempt purposes.
