We emphasize positive role modeling, interactivity, and fun in all of our activities. Our programming currently includes public health and drowning prevention camps, a youth public health ambassadors program, service learning trips, impactful community-led research, and more. All our programs are inspired by respect, benefit, sustainability, and joy . Youth Public Health Ambassadors: RUFC trains 30 youth ambassadors in Northern Uganda to do public health outreach and training rural communities. Ambassadors received a bike and public health training by Makarere University students and RUFC volunteers 6757 School Scholarships: RUFC sponsors 9 youth to attend secondary school by providing tuition assistance as well as funds for text books and school supplies 0 27596 Other: RUFC organized a 2-day soccer training camp in Jinja in December 2020. We partnered with Grassroots Soccer, a local non-profit, to deliver soccer activities and public health training to 100 youth between the ages of 12 and 17. We provided food for all campers, a Tshirt, and paid Grassroots Soccer for providing training (contract) 3665 World Malaria Day: RUFC participated in the 2021 World Malaria Day in Nothern Uganda in collaboration with the US Peace Corps and Children's Chance International. We had to rely on domestic Ugandan students and volunteers to implement our main activities (World Malaria Day, Youth Ambassador Program, and GRS training in Jinja) and we spent $4947 to fund travel, food and lodging for the volunteer coordinator (Peninah Kyosiimire). We also spent $850 in transportation costs to pick up and distribute 5,000 mosquito nets in advance of World Malaria Day. Finally, RUFC spend $150 to contribute to the flower arrangement of a wedding of a volunteer that has been with RUFC since 2015 (Winnie Alobo Otwili). Ray United FC management sincerely apologizes for the delay in filing its 990 EZ tax forms. The delay was first caused because the coming out of the COVID-19 the organization's leadership was overwhelmed and we had a hard time adjusting as a result of changes in our professional lives. The Secretary of the organization, Ralph Wipfli, started a new job as the Sr. Research Administrative Director at the University of Southern California and had to lead the department of Population and Public Health Sciences back to the offices, ensure that student could resume in-person learning and restart the department's sponsored research operations. Ray United FC also had to spin up its programing in Uganda after months of travel restrictions to the country. Amongst the various activities, the tax filings were not done, and we apologize for the oversight. A second delay was caused because we were not aware that filings after Dec 31, 2021 would not be accepted in paper anymore and had to be submitted. We initially filed our return in October 2023, but received notification of the mandatory online filing on March 24, 2024. We are refiling electronically as instructed.
