It serves students enrolled in ISD 728 schools or those that are home schooled within district boundaries. Students are provided the opportunity to learn and compete in the marching arts, showcasing their skills in music, performance, marching techniques, theater, and dance through summer street marching in parades, winter drumline, winter color guard, and winter winds performance education programs. 0 0 139707 135413 River Valley Winter Arts: Two of our winter arts groups (Percussion and Winds) travelled to Dayton, OH in April of 2023 to compete in the WGI World Championships. Our Winter Guard group travelled to Indianapolis, IN for the WGI Regional competition as a cost-saving measure due to lower enrollment. There they were able to perform against groups from across the entire United States. Both our Percussion and Winds groups made it past prelims and semi-finals to the final round of competition, Percussion finishing 15th and Winds finishing 8th. Our Winter Guard group made it past prelims and took first place in finals. All three groups took with them memories that provided experience and growth, and all had fun doing it. A portion of each student performer's membership dues is attributed to their trip expense. That is represented below in the revenue. 61237 94234 The summer marching band performed in communities across the state of Minnesota this past fiscal year. The revenue generated to support this programming is a combination of student participation dues, donations, and corporate and civic sponsorships.
