At that moment, the department was amidst a significant transition, with a newly hired Operations Supervisor just three weeks prior. Initially, it was understood that the previous contractors and interim Executive Director would handle the 2021 and 2022 audits, along with the 2022 tax return (990). However, these crucial audits had not been addressed. Hugo House had to file a 8868 extension. Unfortunately, this was done just past the filing deadline. It's now December and the long absence of the 2022 audit slowed down the process to completing the form 990.
