<Desc>Leadership Training: The organization teaches historically significant and contemporary tap dance to the Youth Tap Ensemble aka YTE (15-25 dancers ages 8 to 18). This group rehearses approx. 110 hours per year each. 15% of these dancers received scholarships. Students learn from basic to advanced skills, improvisation, musicality and, or course, rhythm. Our students expand their artistic talents and improve their leadership skills. Students perform multiple times per year at a wide variety of venues. We go beyond creating dancers and develop people who understand the value of arts and arts education. Our performances count towards community service for many of our students as they develop their leadership skills by participating in the planning and execution of performances. We are also a training ground for dancers interested in developing their teaching skills.</Desc>

<Desc>Educational Involvement: Keane Sense of Rhythm currently does outreach programming with three Elementary Schools in St. Paul, Mn. We specifically work with the Freedom School students year-round in grade K-5th grade. We supplement arts education for under-served youth who have real and perceived barriers to attending a dance class by bringing a high-quality enrichment program. We serve an average of 100 participants annually and quarterly showcases serve peers and familes as audience members totalling over 1,000 people. Keane's outreach program included 4 adult tape classes in Richfield (1) and St. Paul (3) community education. most classes run for 6 sessions at a time, 3 or 4 times a year. These 'Tappy hour" classes are low cost and shoes may be borrowed rather than bought. We served approximately 165 adults through community education programs. In May of 2022, KSR leased a space to create a dance studio with the highest quality sprung floor suitable for tap dance in terms of both give and sound quality. We accessed our reserves and held a fundraising campaign called "Spring for a Sprung Floor'. In September we were able to begin offering a wider variety of classes including 55+ classes for aging adults. Total adults served reached 140. We hosted master classes with guest artists serving over 60 participants.</Desc>

About 90 performers from 9 affiliations and 400 audience members enjoyed the outdoor performance. Students across all of our programs were invited to perform. The St. Paul Winter Carnival, 14 performers, 260 audienceThe Twin Cities Tap Festival did not host a tap festival in 2022.Nursing home show: 15 dancers, 43 audience. In May we produced our first "Mn Dance Experience and adjudacated performance opportunity for students to get direct feedback from professionals and opportunities for scholarships to tap events/courses nationally serving 15 perforamners and 145 audience members.June 11 St Cloud Tap Festival "Swinging into Summer", 11 performers, 300 audienceJuly 2 Boom Dance Fest, Stillwater, 7 performers, 200 audienceSept 24 Universal Dance Destiny, 8 performers, 120 audienceOct 2 TC Marathon, 22 participants, 8,000 runners</Desc>

<Desc>Community Involvement: We could not accomplish all we do in our outreach programs without the commitment and support of each school's faculty and staff,The demand for us to return and expand is a testament to the quality of programming we provide. We have a core group of Alumni who support us by teaching, performing and volunteering in multiple capacities. The Dancing Fair (local manufacturer) has supported the organization as a key donor since 1997 by supplying shoes as well as funding. Our organization serves as a valuable resource to the dance community at large, like loaning 30 pairs of tap shoes to a local theater for a musical that had a tap number. We provide inexpensive rental space for 5 individuals and organizations for an average of 10 hours per week.</Desc>
