Unlike the Light Station real property which was transferred to the organization, the lens remains the property of the coast guard. Other artifacts on display include the keepers log for the station, rare photographs, period fog signal equipment and various historical collections, along with the mercury bath drive system, and the VRB-25 beacon removed from the tower in 2015. Members or stockholder classes and rights Part VI line 6 Members pay dues and receive certain benefits such as free or reduced admission to the light station and voting rights at the annual meeting. Member election for additional members Part VI line 7a Each dues paying member is allowed one vote. There is only one class of member/voter. Governing body decisions Part VI line 7b Members of the organization vote to approve officers and directors for two year terms. They also vote on any changes to the bylaws presented at the annual meeting. Form 990 governing body review Part VI line 11 The Board of Directors is sent a copy of the Form 990 after it is prepared to be reviewed by the Board of Directors. At the Board of Directors meeting, the financial information on the tax return is summarized and reconciled with the financial statements and compared to the prior year. The Board reviews any policy issues and recommends and agrees on any policy initiatives for the coming year. Conflict of interest policy compliance Part VI line 12c The Board of Directors adopted the conflict of interest policy in 2011. Annually, all key employees and board members sign the conflict of interest certification and disclosure statements acknowledging this policy and disclosing any financial interests that may be a conflict. A committee of the board reviews these statements annually. No conflicts of interest were noted in 2023. The Board of Directors is responsible for setting the salary of the Executive Director.
