Part III response or note to any other line in Part III Hudson Middle School Band Boosters primary exempt purpose is to enrich the middle school band students music education by providing multiple enhanced learning and competitive performance programs that are not provided for by the school districts limited fine arts department budget. Part III, Line 28: 330 band students performed in 22 concerts and 12 Regional & District-wide contests. Awards received: 239 1st Division medals at Solo & Ensemble Contest, 5 students named Outstanding Soloist; All 3 Advanced Bands (194 students) earned a 1 rating on stage at their University Interscholastic League (UIL) evaluations; Wind Symphony (65 students) and Honors Bands (65 students) earned 1st Division ratings at UIL; 136 Beginner Band students auditioned for the Garland ISD All-Star Band, and 30 students earn a chair (3 were 1st chair). Part III, Line 29: Uniforms, Sheet Music and Instruments purchased: Provided 194 uniforms for student musicians. Bands sheet music library is funded by HMSBB. Purchased and donated 4 tubas to the band. Part III, Line 30: Sponsored 102 master classes, 20 individual weekly instrument lessons, and a 2-week Summer Band program. Awards: 50 students nominated for Outstanding Soloist; 5 students won Outstanding Soloist; 46 students earned a chair in one or both of the GISD All-District and/or TMEA Region 3 All-Region bands - the most chairs earned in the District.
