Students have the opportunity to show off their animal science skills gleaned from their projects. Students learn life skills as well as teamwork, responsibility, work ethics, time management and business skills. We strongly support the Northview High School FFA's Fresh from Florida program. This program's purpose is to educate students on the importance of agriculture in our county and encourage FFA members to participate in agricultural literacy and awareness projects on the local level. Student received the opportunity to learn about agriculture firsthand as they got up close and personal with farm animals, farm equipment, and more. This program has been nationally recongized by the National FFA. Escambia County Farm Bureau members and FFA provided Thanksgiving meals in Escambia County during Farm City Week,a event which attempts to bring about a better understanding between rural and urban people by increasing knowledge and appreciation for agriculture. Volunteers worked together to harvest fresh items from the West Florida Research and Education center for the meals.
