Services include regular home visits, group connections, screenings, and resource connections. PAT served 15 parents/caregivers and their children through 130 home visits and 12 group connections. Other family support activities include information/referral services, community outreach, child abuse prevention awareness, and the Triple P - Positive Parenting Program, an evidence-based program offering individual consultation, groups and parenting seminars to families with children birth through adolescence. A total of 19 parents/caregivers and 22 children were served through the Triple P program. 60602 8873 0 Pre-Literacy Programs: This activity promotes an increased awareness of the value of pre-literacy and the role of parents in their child's readiness for school and social emotional development. Services include the Imagination Library, a universal reading program for all children to age 5. A total of 1,197 children participated in the Imagination Library program. The Raising A Reader program served 172 at-risk children in 10 classrooms. Reach Out and Read was implemented at 5 medical sites, with a total of 4085 books distributed to children during their well-child visit along with a doctor's prescription to read and guidance for the parents on reading with their children. Staff also partner with Dare County Schools to implement Kindergarten Transition activities and provide resources for families with children transitioning to kindergarten in the coming year. 59835 0 0 Quality Early Learning is an activity to promote continuous quality improvement of the early childhood system in Dare County. Services include technical assistance for early childhood education programs to support quality care in licensed and G.S. 110 child care facilities. Technical assistance is provided to improve and maintain star level license rating, and also includes workshops, trainings and the development of quality improvement action plans based on the expressed needs of the program administrators/teachers and State licensing requirements. A total of 5 child care programs were served with a focus on increasing/maintaining their star level license rating.
