Payments are made directly to landlords utility companies medical service providers and occasionally schools or automobile service facilities. Payments are never made directly to clients. For FY24 the majority of payments made were $300 or less. For large payments generally those exceeding $2,000 2 members of the Executive Committee or the 2 co-managers of the Family Assistance program must approve the payment. The Family Assistance program is given an annual budget which is approved by Share's board and by its general membership. Prospective clients are vetted by Family Assistance program volunteers with the help of professional social workers employed by Fairfax County.Once a client is approved an electronic check request is to the Share Treasurer who writes and sends the requested check. All client information check requests and case notes are maintained in a Salesforce database and in a Quicken database used by the Treasurer. Every month the database is reconciled to ensure that the correct payments have been made and properly recorded. The budget is reviewed annually to ensure that the total payments are in accordance with the budget. Part VI, Line 2 President Steve Mournighan is married to board member Carol Mournighan Part VI, Line 6 Share Incorporated is organized as a non-stock nonprofit corporation. All persons in the community who devote services or resources to Share are members of Share. Members are entitled to elect annually the board of directors of Share and to approve Share's annual budget. Part VI, Line 7a All members of Share are eligible to elect annually the corporation's board of directors. Part VI, Line 7b All members of Share are eligible to elect to approve the corporation's annual budget for the following year. Part VI, Line 11a Once the Form 990 is completed by the Treasurer a copy is given to the President of Share to review. The President may give copies to other Share members for their input as needed. When all comments and recommendations are resolved the Treasurer makes any resulting changes and then submits the signed Form 990 to the IRS. Part VI, Line 19 Share Inc. is an entirely volunteer charity; it has no employees and no member or other person is compensated directly or indirectly by Share. Therefore Share has no conflict of interest policy. Share has governing documents that it makes available via Dropbox to all board members and to anyone else upon request. Financial statements are presented at semi-monthly meetings open to members and the general public and Form 990 is made available on the ShareofMcLean.org website via a link to the ProPublica website or upon request.
