The conference aimed to transform our newly established NEC Research Priorities into actionable research projects. The NEC Biorepository enrolled more than 300 infants, bringing us closer to understanding how and why this disease occurs so we can learn how to prevent the disease. The NEC Society also presented at and participated in the Pediatric Academic Socieities Meeting, the American Academy of Pediatrics Meeting, and conferneces around North America througout the year to advance the science of NEC and urgency of our work.
