The District is governed by five commissioners elected by residents of the geographic district and sets overall policy for the Department. Essentially, the District provides the firehouses and fire/rescue equipment and the Department provides the manpower. Thus, both entities perform services and share facilities with each other although no monies are exchanged. The filing was late due to time commitments with other duties and some difficulty obtaining some of the records.
