The IADC is dedicated to enhancing the interests of the oil-and-gas and geothermal drilling and completion industry worldwide. Membership is open to any company involved in oil and gas exploration, drilling or production, well servicing, oilfield manufacturing, or other rig-site services. IADC's contract-drilling members own most of the world's land and offshore drilling units and drill most of the wells that produce the planet's oil and gas. IADC's membership includes oil-and-gas producers, manufacturers, and oilfield equipment and services suppliers. IADC-Houston Chapter provides a venue for members to share and exchange technology specific to the drilling contractor industry. Luncheons are held 6-8 times per year. The Oilfield Charity Sporting Clays Tournament benefits the Oilfield Christian Fellowship charity. The Board votes and approves dollar amounts. -Student scholarships are awarded to candidates whose grades are in good standing with their respective universities. Other criteria set by the IADC Houston Chapter Board of Directors may include the level of financial need, internships within the industry, and participation in related student organizations. The Chapter Scholarship Chairman interviews candidates each year, and Chapter BOD approves them.
