Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c the officer often reviews certain transactions of the organization's activity with their bookkeeper and their cpa that may be perceived as a conflict of interest. they usually contact said cpa with questions as to a particular transaction that may be viewed as a conflict of interest. if the cpa states that the transaction may be construed as a conflict of interest, the officer will not pursue the transaction. the president is particularly sensitive about her compensation. she has compared it to other schools in their area and believes her compensation is well within limits considering her education, her experience in the educational field, and the time spent in the school. the president serves many purposes in the school, such as determining the curriculum, scheduling the teachers, interviewing potential students and parents, supervising the teachers and administrators. she is the original organizer of the school. the president was instrumental in the expansion of the school's facility and relocation which allowed the school to accept greater number students and faculty. the officer does not have a retirement package, nor does she have a deferred compensation package. therefore, in lieu of retirement benefits, she reviews her compensation and determines the amount of the salary that is not out of alignment with others in their field of expertise, considering there are no retirement benefits or deferred compensation packages. in the current year, since enrollment has not increased significantly, the officer determined that any salary increases to herself is not appropriate at this time. the officer does not travel on behalf of the organization or other perceived abuse of her position. She is sensitive to the organization's exempt status and takes every step to prevent a conflict of interest.the officer does not normally borrow from the organization or receive any other form of benefits from the organization other than her compensation. however, when the officer does borrow from the organization it is for a very short term period, less than one month.
