We map natural resources and help communities create conservation and tree planting plans. 0 0 585734 728442 819677 The GIC conducts research, economic analysis, land use planning and asset assessment and mapping, to provide the suite of tools needed by communities to protect and restore their green assets, The GIC builds habitat models to find and rank natural resources such as wildlife habitat, water resources, agricultural soils, wildlife corridors as well as human needs and uses such as nature-based recreation. The GIC also works in urban areas to map tree canopy, calculate urban tree benefits, and create strategies for restoring urban natural areas. The GIC primarily works with local and state agencies, community and neighborhood groups, and land trusts, conservation groups and schools. The Executive Director and Treasurer review form 990 for accuracy. It is then given to the Board of Directors for review and approval. The form is signed by the Executive Director and submittted. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c GIC Implemented a conflict of interest policy in early 2016 for disclosure. The minutes reflect the discussion and adoption of the policy. The Board discussed how it would handle and document conflicts if needed. Board members were asked to complete and sign a form regarding any disclosures. Annually, GIC reviews the policy and current board members each complete conflict of interest disclosure forms. The Executive Director also completes the annual conflict of interest form as the chief executive officer. New Board Members are given the form to complete.
